It's from one of the original Star Trek episodes. I don't recall all the specifics but Scotty was drinking (and getting quite drunk), I think, with Klingons and Kirk asked him what he had. Scotty looked at it, very obviously having no idea what it was called or possibly how to pronounce it and proclaimed, "It's green, Captain!" [/grew up going to ST conventions]
